From Red Brush Art to Glenn Russell Art: A Natural Evolution

As an artist, evolution is inevitable — just like a painting slowly revealing its final form, a creative journey unfolds over time. With this in mind, I’ve recently made the decision to transition the name of my art practice from Red Brush Art to Glenn Russell Art.

Why the Change?

The name Red Brush Art was born during a significant chapter of my life — my years living in Asia, particularly in Singapore. It reflected the strong influence of Eastern culture, philosophy, and aesthetic sensibilities on my early work. Red Brush Art was not only a creative identity but also a tribute to the time I spent immersed in the rich visual traditions of the region. My work during this period was strongly influenced by Asian culture and landscapes, capturing the serenity of temple rooftops, the fluidity of calligraphic linework, and the gentle beauty of tropical gardens.

But life, like art, keeps moving.

In recent years, my creative lens has shifted more and more toward the natural beauty of Australia — the place I now call home. The Australian landscape, with its rugged coastlines, vibrant wildflowers, and unique wildlife, has become a rich and deeply personal source of inspiration. My paintings and mosaics increasingly reflect this connection: the delicate form of a banksia pod, the swirling depths of a coastal wave, the earthy palette of the bush.

A Name that Reflects the Present

Changing the name to Glenn Russell Art feels like a natural next step — one that better represents who I am now, both as an artist and as a person. It also allows my art to stand on the foundation of authenticity and personal connection, something I value deeply in both my creative process and in how I share my work with others.

While Red Brush Art will always be a meaningful part of my story, I look forward to this next chapter with a renewed sense of clarity, purpose, and place.

Thank you for following along — whether you’ve been with me since the early days in Singapore or have only recently discovered my work inspired by the Australian landscape. I’m grateful for your support, and I can’t wait to share what’s next.
